Purpose: To inform the High Commissioner’s report on Human rights in the context of HIV and AIDS (Human Rights Council resolution 47/14 to be presented to the Human Rights Council at its fiftieth session)

Objectives

The purpose of the report is to describe the action being taken and recommending action to be intensified or initiated to meet the innovative targets on societal enablers, as recognized in the Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS adopted by the General Assembly in 2021, and to address the remaining gaps.

Key questions and types of input sought

It is recommended that submissions focus particularly on the following areas:

  1. Gaps in the HIV/AIDS response at national and local levels
  2. Policies, laws and programmes to meet targets on societal enablers and address gaps in the HIV/AIDS response
  3. Concrete action being taken to implement such laws, policies and programmes and relevant challenges
