Summary

The Human Rights Council (resolution 51/35) requested the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to prepare a report on the Marshall Islands’ nuclear legacy. Building upon consultations with the Marshall Islands and the United States governments, community representatives, and relevant offices of the United Nations, this report utilizes a transitional justice approach in addressing the challenges and barriers to the full realization and enjoyment of human rights stemming from the nuclear legacy.
