Country visits
Working group on mercenaries
Country visits are an important component of the Working Group's mandate. The aim of such visits is to obtain first-hand information on the impact of mercenaries, mercenary-related actors, and private military and security companies (PMSCs) on the enjoyment of human rights in a given country, as well as to identify challenges and good practices. After the visit, the Working Group reports to the Human Rights Council on its findings and proposes, in a spirit of cooperation, recommendations to improve situations identified as matters of concern.
