背景

The language belongs to the Benue-Congo family, Bantu group. Kinyarwanda, is an important language of east-central Africa. It is spoken by virtually everyone in the republic of Rwanda (about 8 million people), and by perhaps 4 million more in the neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo. . Kinyarwanda is largely inherently intelligible with Kirundi, the official language of Burundi.
