Purpose: To invite States, national human rights institutions, civil society organisations, academics, international and regional organisations, experts, and others interested stakeholders to submit suggestions and comments on the first draft of CED General Comment on enforced disappearances in the context of migration

Background

During its 24th Session, the Committee adopted the 1st draft of its General Comment on enforced disappearances in the context of migration. It now invites all interested stakeholders, including States, national human rights institutions, victims and other civil society actors, academics, international and regional organisations, and experts, to provide inputs and comments on this first draft.

Key questions and types of input/comments sought

The Committee seek specific contributions such as alternative suggestions for the wording of specific parts, or the inclusion of missing issues or information. Inputs can be provided in the format of a document no longer than 2500 words, or (preferably) in track changes directly in the first draft.

How inputs will be used

All inputs will be shared with the Committee. When submitting a contribution, please specify if you wish it to be made public or not. Public submissions will be uploaded on the Committee’s webpage in their original language only. The others will remain confidential.
