Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar
Back
The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar ("IIMM" or "Myanmar Mechanism") was established by the Human Rights Council in September 2018 through resolution 39/2. It is mandated to collect evidence of the most serious international crimes and violations of international law and prepare files for criminal prosecution, making use of the information handed over to it by the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar (FFMM). The Myanmar Mechanism became operational on 30 August 2019.
