THEME
Statelessness: A Minority Issue
The eleventh session of the UN Forum on Minority Issues was convened on 29 and 30 November 2018 pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 6/15 of 28 September 2007 and resolution 19/23 of 23 March 2012. A Preparatory Meeting for all participants was held on 28 November 2018.
The Forum was convened on the theme "Statelessness: A Minority Issue". Statelessness is a human rights issue disproportionately affecting minorities around the world.
The Forum aimed at addressing the interrelatedness and interconnection between the promotion and protection of the human rights of persons belonging to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities and statelessness.
