About Us

30 November 2018, 11 a.m., Salle IX, Palais des Nations, Geneva

Each year the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery invites the International Community to mark the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. More needs to be done to eradicate the scourge of slavery, which continues to be present in our society. On 30 November, join us to hear the testimonies of survivors of Domestic Servitude as well as experts and professionals providing assistance to victims of this form of slavery in different regions of the world. The Expert Panel discussion will, in particular, address:

  • Specific needs and challenges faced by victims of domestic servitude;
  • The right of victims of domestic servitude to rehabilitation and redress;
  • Lessons learned, good practices and innovative methodologies to identify, rehabilitate, integrate and empower victims of domestic servitude.
