Call for new member (from Africa) of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the UN Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Peoples (UNVFIP)

Pursuant to GA Resolution 40/131, OHCHR is inviting expression of interest from indigenous experts from Africa  who are interested in joining the Board of the UNVFIP.

The Board is composed of five persons with relevant experience on indigenous issues, who serve in their personal capacity. The members of the Board are appointed by the Secretary-General for a three-year renewable term.

Candidates are requested to submit their expression of interest by sending their latest CV and Cover Letter, detailing their experience and what they think they can bring to the Board.

Expressions of interest should be emailed to Morse Caoagas Flores, Secretary of the UN Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Peoples, at morse.flores@un.org by 30 October 2023.

Short-listed applicants will be contacted for an interview and successful candidates will be notified by the end of December 2023 and invited to attend the annual session of the Board in February 2024.

More information about the Board of Trustees and the mandates of the Fund can be found on the Fund’s website.
