Ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child on 29 June 1990
Ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict on 20 February 2003
Ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children child prostitution and child pornography on 19 January 2007
Pledges
- The Convention on the Rights of the Child will be incorporated into Swedish law.
- The Ombudsman for Children (a Swedish government agency) is organizing a digital conference on November 20 in Sweden. At the conference, a new digital tool called “barnrättsresan” will be released. The tool is created to increase the knowledge of the rights of the child for authorities, municipalities, and county councils.
