I. ORGANIZATION OF THE CONFERENCE
1. The General Assembly of the United Nations by resolution 2081 (XX) of 20 December 1965, decided to convene an International Conference on Human Rights “to promote further the principles contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to develop and guarantee political, civil, economic, social and cultural rights and to end all discrimination and denial of human rights and fundamental freedoms on grounds of race, colour, sex, language or religion, and in particular, to permit the elimination of the apartheid”
