OHCHR and the right to a nationality

The Secretary-General or High Commissioner submits thematic reports to the Human Rights Council (HRC). Thematic reports document findings on particular topics and provide guidance and recommendations for UN Member States, civil society organizations and other stakeholders.

2013	Report on discrimination against women on nationality-related matters, including the impact on children This report examines how women in certain countries do not enjoy equal rights with men to acquire, change and retain their nationality and are also not allowed to transfer nationality to their children or spouses on the same basis, which very often results in statelessness.
