Summary

The present report is issued as a follow-up to the four latest country visits of the Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association, which were to the following States: Tunisia, conducted from 17 to 28 September 2018; Armenia, from 7 to 16 November 2018; Sri Lanka, from 18 to 26 July 2019; and Zimbabwe, from 17 to 27 September 2019.

In the report, the Special Rapporteur examines the various follow-up measures taken in relation to the recommendations presented in the four country visit reports. Drawing on information received from different sources in the years that followed each country visit, as well as on submissions received in response to tailored questionnaires, the Special Rapporteur provides an assessment of the implementation of these recommendations.

While several key issues are emphasized, the Special Rapporteur focuses primarily on the matters for which information was received, drawing conclusions and offering practical recommendations.
