Summary

The Working Group on the issue of discrimination against women in law and in practice conducted a visit to Peru from 11 to 19 September 2014. The present report describes the context surrounding gender equality and the human rights of women in Peru and analyses related achievements and challenges. It examines the lega l, institutional and policy framework for promoting equality and the participation and empowerment of women in economic, social, political and public life, with particular attention to women in situations of vulnerability. The Working Group makes recommendations for eliminating discrimination and promoting equality.
