This thematic report will focus on the issue of the long-term detention of human rights defenders in connection to their human rights work.
With this report, the Special Rapporteur will identify human rights defenders in long term detention across all regions, relevant trends and patterns, as well as effective strategies and recommendations to all relevant stake holders with the aim of putting an end to this practice and preventing the long-term arbitrary detention of human rights defenders.
The Special Rapporteur will hold online expert consultations on the topic, analyse the communications and press releases on human rights defenders in long term detention sent by the mandate to Member States and other stakeholders, consult and collect testimony ofThe questionnaires can be downloaded below in English (original language), Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish (unofficial translations).
