The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights is revising its Rules of Procedure under the Optional Protocol to the ICESCR. This revision includes the Procedures for the consideration of individual communications received under the Optional Protocol. Proceedings under the inquiry procedure of the Optional Protocol and Inter-State communications procedure are not being revised at this stage.

The Committee, through its Working Group on Individual Communications, has prepared a draft revision to its Rules of Procedures available at the link below. By way of public consultation, the Committee invited interested individuals and organizations, including States, national human rights institutions, civil society organizations, academics, international and regional organizations and experts, to make a written contribution to the draft rules of procedures before the deadline-15th August 2021.
