Succeeded to the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children child prostitution and child pornography on 23 October 2006

Ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on a communications procedure on 24 September 2013

Pledges

1. The sustained promotion, protection and realization of the rights of the child with the special focus on the most vulnerable, and to reduce the number of children in large-scale institutional care by 30 % by the end of 2023.
2. The 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child will be celebrated at the highest level, and the President of Montenegro will host children, the Golden Advisors of the Institution for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms.
