The Assessment of the mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities was conducted by independent consultants Neil Crowther and Mark Priestley in September 2020.

It presents lessons drawn from the term 2014-2020 of Ms. Catalina Devandas Aguilar as first United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Its findings are based on desk research and on 29 semi-structured interviews conducted in July and August 2020 with respondents who were selected to provide diverse perspectives on the influence of the mandate on the United Nations system and on the broader human rights and development agenda.
