The Elimination of Discrimination Against Women and Girls in Sport (Resolution 40/5)
The Human Rights Council resolution in March 2019 passed resolution 40/5 on the elimination of discrimination against women and girls in sport. This resolution requested the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to prepare a report on the intersection of race and gender discrimination in sport, including in policies, regulations and practices of sporting bodies, and elaborating on relevant international human rights norms and standards. The report will be presented to the Human Rights Council at its forty-fourth session.
