This publication provides a review of housing rights in international and national law, including a discussion of housing rights as progressive legal obligations. The publication also reviews selected adjudication, e.g. how housing rights legislation is being implemented, and illustrates that effective constitutional and legislative measures on the right to adequate housing are not only realistic but have already been used successfully in a number of countries. The examples presented in the publication provide a framework for model legislation with respect to specific components of the right to adequate housing.
