The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was adopted by the General Assembly on 13 September 2007. By issuing the Declaration in this pocket-sized format, OHCHR wishes to make these important human rights standards available to Government officials, human rights defenders, indigenous peoples, scholars, legal practitioners, civil society and others wanting to promote the rights of these peoples worldwide.
