UN Human Rights Chief Michelle Bachelet to conduct official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, 21-24 June 2022

GENEVA (20 June 2022) – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet begins a four-day official mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday. This is the first visit by a UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1998.

During her visit, the High Commissioner will meet senior Government officials, representatives of civil society, survivors and families of victims of the 1992-95 conflict, members of the judiciary, and representatives of the international community.

At the end of her mission, on 24 June, the High Commissioner will issue a statement and hold a news conference in Sarajevo at 12h00 local time. Access to the news conference will be strictly limited to accredited media.  

More details about the news conference, including instructions on registration, will follow in media advisories to be issued locally.
