UN Committee Against Torture publishes findings on Chile, Mauritania, Russian Federation and Seychelles

Committee Against Torture findings

GENEVA (August 10, 2018) – The UN Committee Against Torture has published its findings on the rights record of countries it examined during its latest session: Chile, Mauritania, Russian Federation and Seychelles.

The findings, officially termed concluding observations, contain positive aspects of the respective State’s implementation of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, and also main matters of concern and recommendations.

The concluding observations are now available.

The Committee Against Torture will next meet from 12 November to 7 December 2018 to review the following countries: Canada, Guatemala, Maldives, Netherlands, Peru, and Viet Nam.
