UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances to review Albania, Austria, and Honduras

GENEVA (17 May 2018) – The UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances (CED) is meeting in Geneva from May 22 – June 1, 2018, to review Albania, Austria, and Honduras. 

The Committee, which is composed of 10 international independent human rights experts, monitors implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance. The states above are among the 58 States that have to date ratified the Convention and so are required to submit a report for review to the Committee.

The sessions will be held at the following times:

Thursday, 24 May - 10:00-13:00 - 15:00-18:00

The meetings will take place in the first floor conference room at Palais Wilson, Geneva, and will be webcast here.

Committee members will discuss a range of issues relating to implementation of the Convention with the respective State delegations, and also hear from NGOs and national human rights institutions. More information can be found here.

The Committee will publish its findings on Monday, June 4, 2018.
