GENEVA (22 April 2016) – The UN Committee on the Rights of Persons (CRPD) with disabilities has published findings on the countries it reviewed during its latest session from 29 March to 21 April: Portugal, Thailand, Chile, Slovakia, Serbia, Lithuania and Uganda.

These are among the 163 States that have ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and so are required to be reviewed regularly by the Committee of 18 independent human rights experts.

The CRPD’s findings, officially termed concluding observations, cover positive aspects of a State’s implementation of the Convention and also main areas of concern and recommendations for action. They are available here: http://tbinternet.ohchr.org/_layouts/treatybodyexternal/SessionDetails1.aspx?SessionID=1050&Lang=en
