Committee on Enforced Disappearances publishes findings on Tunisia, Burkina Faso and Kazakhstan

Enforced disappearances

GENEVA (21 March 2016) – The UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances has published it findings on the countries examined during its latest session from 7 to 18 March: Tunisia, Burkina Faso and Kazakhstan.

The findings, officially termed concluding observations, contain positive aspects of the respective State’s implementation of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance and also main matters of concern and recommendations.

The International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance marks its 10th anniversary in 2016.  The Convention was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 20 December 2006 and came into force on 23 December 2010.
