GENEVA (23 November 2015) – The UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) has published its findings on Russia, Portugal, Liberia, Slovenia, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, UAE, Malawi, Madagascar, Timor Leste and Slovakia.

The findings cover how the respective country is implementing the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination, highlighting positive developments as well as main matters of concern and recommendations.

CEDAW members held discussions with the respective government delegations during their latest session from 26 October to 20 November, and were also briefed by NGOs and national human rights institutions.

The Committee, composed of 23 international independent experts, will next meet from 15 February to 4 March 2016 when the Czech Republic, Haiti, Iceland, Japan, Mongolia, Sweden, Tanzania and Vanuatu are scheduled for review.
