Discrimination against women: UN Committee publishes findings on Senegal, Spain, The Gambia, Viet Nam, Bolivia, Croatia, Namibia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

GENEVA (27 July 2015) – The UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) has published its findings on women’s rights in the States it examined during its session from 6 to 24 July: Senegal, Spain, The Gambia, Viet Nam, Bolivia, Croatia, Namibia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The concluding observations contain positive aspects of a respective State’s implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, highlight main areas of concern, and detail the Committee’s recommendations for action.

The countries reviewed during the session are among the 188 States Parties to the Convention and so are required to undergo regular review by the Committee of 23 international independent experts.
