WORKING GROUP ON ENFORCED OR INVOLUNTARY DISAPPERANCES POSTPONES VISIT TO IRAN

The visit of the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights to Iran, which was to begin today and last until 18 June, has been postponed due the sudden illness of Group Chairman Diego García-Sayán, who was to head the delegation.

As soon as the situation permits, the Working Group will resume discussions with the Iranian Government to agree new dates for the visit.
