WORKING GROUP ON EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF ANTI RACISM DECLARATION AND PROGRAMME OF ACTION TO MEET IN GENEVA

The panel established to monitor the effect of measures adopted at the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance held in Durban, South Africa, in 2001 will meet in Geneva from 5 to 9 March 2007.

The Intergovernmental Working Group on the effective implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action will assess national action plans against racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance and host an exchange views with experts responsible for a study on complementary international standards against racial bias. This will be the group?s fifth session

The Working Group is one of three mechanisms established to ensure the follow-up of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action. It was created by Commission on Human Rights resolution 2002/68 of 25 April 2002.
