VISIT OF WORKING GROUP ON ENFORCED OR INVOLUNTARY DISAPPERANCES TO IRAN POSTPONED

A visit by the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances to the Islamic Republic of Iran, scheduled to take place from 25 to 28 July, has been postponed at the request of the Iranian Government. The authorities have proposed that the mission take place in October 2004 at the latest.

The Working Group will continue negotiations with the Government with a view to reaching agreement on alternate dates for the visit.
