HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE REVIEWS AND ADOPTS ANNUAL REPORT

The Human Rights Committee, approaching the close of its three-week summer session, reviewed and adopted this afternoon sections of its annual report.

The Committee will reconvene in private at 10 a.m. Friday, 31 July, to discuss communications from persons claiming violations of their civil and political rights. The Committee members will meet in public session before 1 a.m. to release their final conclusions and recommendations on reports considered during the session from Ecuador, Israel, Italy, Algeria, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and Tanzania.
