ARRANGEMENTS BEING MADE FOR SERVICE IN MEMORY OF SERGIO VIEIRA DE MELLO

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) wishes to inform all colleagues and friends of Sergio Vieira de Mello that arrangements are being made for a United Nations-wide service, including the United Nations Office at Geneva and the UNHCR, in memory of the late High Commissioner.

Such arrangements can only be finalized, however, after his family has completed its own arrangements for burial. OHCHR will communicate the details of the memorial service as soon as they are final.

We thank you for your understanding and take this opportunity to convey once again our appreciation for the support you have demonstrated in these difficult times.
