During its 49th regular session, the Human Rights Council appointed the following new mandate holders of the Expert Mechanism on the rights of indigenous peoples for the period 2022-2025:

Member from Central and Eastern Europe, the Russian Federation, Central Asia and Transcaucasia
Ms. Antonina GORBUNOVA (Russian Federation)

Member from Central and South America, and the Caribbean
Ms. Anexa Brendalee ALFRED CUNNINGHAM (Nicaragua)

Member from the Pacific
Ms. Valmaine TOKI (New Zealand)
