Come and listen to a regional dialogue for the Latin America and Caribbean on the “Impact of COVID-19 on people of African descent: building back better,”

The objectives of the meetings is to generate a space for dialogue for Afro-descendant leaders from the Latin America and the Caribbean region on their human rights situation, taking into account the COVID-19 crisis.

The meeting is jointly organised by UN Human Rights and UNFPA, and co-sponsor by the Government of Costa Rica. The dialogue is organized under the three themes of the International Decade for People of African descent.

The 3-day sessions will be broadcast on UNFPA Regional office for the LAC's YouTube channel UNFPA América Latina y el Caribe

The meetings will be organized within the framework of the 2030 Agenda, the Montevideo Consensus on Population and Development and the International Decade for people of African descent.

The High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Executive Director of UNFPA and the Vice-President of Costa Rica will do the closing remarks.
