The Group of Governmental experts on torture-free trade held its first meeting (virtual) on 12 and 13 October 2021.

During its first meeting, the Group appointed a Chair (Mr. Asger Kjaerum, Denmark), a Vice-Chair (Ms. Mari Amos, Estonia), and a Rapporteur (Ms. Alejandra Costa, Uruguay). The Group also adopted its working methods, and established two thematic working groups, to work inter-sessionally.

The next meeting (virtual) of the Group of Governmental experts will take place in December 2021.
