Background

At its nineteenth session, held from 23-26 April 2018, the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on the Right to Development continued to review progress made in the implementation of the right to development.

In this context it held an interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the right to development and with experts on the implementation and realization of the right to development.

It also considered:

  • contributions made by States to the implementation of the right to development;
  • draft right to development criteria and corresponding operational sub-criteria; and
  • the elaboration of standards for the implementation of the right to development.
