The nineteenth meeting of States parties took place in New York on 21 June 2016 with the aim of electing eleven members of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women to replace those members whose term of office expire on 31 December 2016. States parties to the Convention were invited to nominate their candidates by 7 March 2016.
