Summary

The present report, prepared pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 54/19, examines how climate change can have an impact on the equal enjoyment of the right to education by every girl, identifies the main challenges girls face and the efforts to overcome those challenges and obstacles. The High Commissioner concludes with recommendations for the protection and promotion of girls’ enjoyment of the right to education in the context of climate change.
