Paragraph 1 

The first sentence should read Although the exact number of children1 living in internal displacement worldwide is unknown, at least 17 million2 were estimated to have been displaced worldwide by conflict and violence within their own countries by the end of 2018.


1 A child is defined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child as every human being below the age of 18 years unless, under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier.
