Summary

The present report outlines the main activities undertaken by the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants during the reporting period since his most recent report to the General Assembly.

As a contribution to the global compact for safe, orderly and regular migration discussions, the Special Rapporteur proposes the development of an agenda within the framework of the United Nations, in parallel with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, to be known as the 2035 agenda for facilitating human mobility. Based on targets 10.7 and 8.8 of the Sustainable Development Goals, the agenda would encompass eight human mobility goals, together with targets and indicators, aimed at facilitating human mobility in the next 15 years, while ensuring respect for the human rights of all migrants based on the principles of non-discrimination and equality.
