Summary

The present report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 50/15, in which the Human Rights Council requested the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, including in consultation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and other relevant United Nations bodies, to convene at its fifty-third session a panel discussion, fully accessible to persons with disabilities, on the role of digital, media and information literacy in the promotion and enjoyment of the right to freedom of opinion and expression. The report contains a summary of the panel discussion that was held on 3 July 2023.
