This report was prepared by the Protection Unit of the Human Rights Section of the MINUSTAH and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Haiti. It is the result of a collaborative effort and is based on the contribution of several departments of the Government of Haiti, UN agencies, International Organization for Migration and national and international non-governmental organizations.
The report highlights the situation of various groups, amongst them the most vulnerable, including children, women and the internally displaced persons. Apart from an update on the situation in the camps of internally displaced persons, this quarterly report also includes two specific focuses on child protection, prepared by UNICEF in partnership with partners in this field; and on the protection related activities undertaken within the frame of the emergency preparedness and response ahead of the 2013 cyclonic season.
