Summary

The present report contains the findings of the Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent on its visit to the UK, undertaken from 18 to 27 January 2023, in follow up to its visit to the UK in 2012. In the report, the Working Group provides an overview of the current legal, institutional and policy framework and measures taken to prevent racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and related intolerance faced by people of African descent in the UK, underscoring positive developments as well as gaps in implementation. The Working Group describes the situation, highlights good practices and the main challenges identified, and makes concrete recommendations.
