Right to development Annual progress, focus on Sustainable Development Goal 17: report

Summary

The present report contains an overview of the activities of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the promotion and realization of the right to development undertaken between June 2018 and May 2019.

The report also provides an analysis of the implementation of the right to development, which takes into account existing challenges, and contains recommendations on how to overcome those challenges. The analysis is based on the targets of Sustainable Development Goal 17 and takes into account the work undertaken by and for the Working Group on the Right to Development and other human rights mechanisms.

The report complements the report of the Secretary-General and the High Commissioner on the right to development submitted to the Human Rights Council at its thirty-ninth session (A/HRC/39/18).
