Following the acceptance by the State party, the CED will conduct its visit to Colombia from 25 November to 6 December 2024. During the visit, a delegation of experts from the Committee and representatives of the Secretariat will meet with the authorities of the State party involved in any way in dealing with cases of disappearances, including enforced disappearances, as well as with victims, civil society organisations, collectives and other relevant actors.
Provide the Committee with information on the situation of disappearances and enforced disappearances in the State party, and to suggest issues that should be addressed in the context of its visit to the country.
Collect data from victims, civil society organisations, national human rights institutions, academia and other actors willing to meet with the Committee during its visit.
The CED has started the process of preparing the visit, which includes an information-gathering phase.

Written contributions are particularly relevant for the preparation of the visit and the report. These contributions should indicate:
Written contributions should be concise. Pre-existing reports that are of interest to the Committee by virtue of its mandate may also be shared.
To apply to participate in one of the meetings that will be organised during the visit, please send a message with the following information:
- Names of reporting persons, civil society organisations, national human rights institutions.
- Contact details.
- Location (please specify where you live so that we can determine a possible meeting place).
- Issues you would like to raise at the meeting with the Committee.
How contributions will be used?
When submitting a contribution, be sure to specify whether you want it to be made public or not.
The names of the organisations or institutions that will meet with the Committee during its visit to Colombia will be kept confidential.
