Purpose: To inform the High Commissioner's report on best practices, challenges and lessons learned concerning integrated approaches to the promotion and protection of human rights and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the national level

Background

The report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 43/19 on “the promotion and protection of human rights and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. In that resolution, the Human Rights Council requested the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to prepare “a report on best practices, challenges and lessons learned concerning integrated approaches to the promotion and protection of human rights and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the national level by States, relevant United Nations and regional human rights mechanisms, United Nations agencies, funds and programmes, national human rights institutions and civil society organizations, taking into account previous reports of the Office relating to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda”, and to present it at the fifty-first session of the Human Rights Council.
