On 26 November 2008, UNIACC organized a joint side event entitled "The World Programme for Human Rights Education (2005-ongoing): UN System to Support National Implementation of Human Rights Education in the School System" during the 48th session of the International Conference on Education (ICE). The panel discussion aimed to share information on initiatives in the area of human rights education in the school system undertaken by the UN system - in particular by ILO, UNAIDS, UNESCO and UNRWA.
