Ms. Margaret Jungk, former member of the Working Group on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises

Photo of Ms. Margaret JungkMs. Margaret Jungk (Ph.D. in political science, specializing in international human rights law, University of Cambridge) was the founder and director of the Human Rights and Business Department at the Danish Institute for Human Rights. Ms. Jungk’s work has focused on improving the human rights performance of multinational companies. Ms. Jungk has published widely in the field of human rights and business, and was the principal designer of the Human Rights Compliance Assessment (HRCA), a comprehensive tool for companies to identify and address human rights risks in their operations. She has also engaged extensively with individual companies and industry sectors, including oil, mining, finance and pharmaceuticals, to address their individual and collective human rights impacts. Ms. Jungk was the 2011/12 Chair of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Human Rights. She is also a member of the UN Global Compact Human Rights Working Group, the Human Rights and Business Resource Centre advisory group, the Global Reporting Initiative G3 Working Group on Human Rights and is an advisor to the Global Business Initiative. She has participated in a number of in-company initiatives.
