Summary

The Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent visited Portugal from 29 November to 6 December 2021. In the present report, the Working Group describes the current legal, institutional and policy framework, and the measures taken to prevent the racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and related intolerance that people of African descent face in Portugal, emphasizing positive developments and gaps in implementation. The Working Group also highlights good practices and the main challenges it identified, and makes concrete recommendations.
